    The 2026 WRX was born out of rally heritage and inspired by generations of Subaru rally cars that have carried Subaru Motorsports USA to 19 United States national rally championships, including the 2025 American Rally Association overall title.

    The 2026 WRX features a standard 2.4-liter direct-injection turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine. The latest in a long line of iconic SUBARU BOXER powerplants, it produces 271 horsepower and features a twin-scroll turbocharger with an electronic wastegate for near-instant boost response and 258 pound-feet of peak torque with a broad, flat power band. The experts at Car and Driver tested the manual transmission WRX and went from 0-60 MPH in 5.5 seconds — faster than the Volkswagen Golf GTI.
