Founded in 1866, the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) is the first animal welfare organization in North America and serves as the nation’s leading voice for animals. More than 2 million supporters strong, the ASPCA’s mission is to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.

According to the ASPCA, each year approximately 6.3 million companion animals enter U.S. shelters. At Subaru, we are committed to helping all animals — including those in shelters — stay safe and healthy.

Through our Love Promise and Subaru Loves Pets™ initiative, Subaru retailers across the country are hosting adoption events to help local shelter pets find loving homes. Retailers also collect new pet supplies to donate to local animal organizations in our communities and provide shelter supply kits for our furry friends awaiting adoption.

Our Partnerships

Subaru sponsored two studies conducted by the Center for Pet Safety.

BARK has been turning tail wags into full-body wiggles since 2012, now with 2.3 million active subscriptions (and a lot more happy dogs). Subaru and BARK have partnered since 2016 as part of the annual Subaru Loves Pets month to support dog adoptions from participating rescues and shelters.
