Love. It’s what makes Subaru, Subaru.
The Subaru Family, by our definition, goes far beyond our family of products. It includes one of our greatest assets – our employees – as well as our Subaru family of owners, retailers, and business and community partners. We treat each other like family because we are family. Since the early days of the company, we have worked to create a culture where employees are encouraged to be themselves and are supported by everyone around them.
The Subaru Love Promise is our vision to show love and respect to all people at every interaction. We believe that our differences make us stronger. These experiences allow us to learn from each other, offer unique ideas, and add value as team members, which ultimately, allows us to grow our business opportunity and personal lives.
Subaru of America, Inc. is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all, including individuals with disabilities. If you require a reasonable accommodation to assist with your job search or application for employment, please contact us at 800-624-5848 or SOARecruit@subaru.com.

Everyone’s road trip starts somewhere. By bringing your skills, you begin to navigate a career and journey with colleagues at Subaru. Allow our employees to share their story.

Subaru of America set out on a journey many years back to foster and develop a more diverse and inclusive culture. Our vision to integrate diversity and inclusion into our business operations and daily interactions was founded in our Love Promise Vision.
At Subaru, we believe our differences make us stronger. We all have a story shaped by our experiences. These experiences allow us to learn from each other, offer unique ideas, and add value as team members, which ultimately, allows us to grow our business opportunities and personal lives. Diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are core to our culture and an integral part of our Love Promise. This is the foundation in how we make decisions and how we trust and respect each other as humans.
I was pleasantly surprised that the CEO knew everyone’s name and was always open to having a conversation. At previous jobs, I would hardly ever see the CEO walking around the office engaging with employees. It was refreshing to see how much the CEO valued all employees. This is also reflected in the number of benefits we receive. My manager has also impacted my career by always pushing me to take on new and different tasks. I’m now working in an area that was not on my radar initially, but one that I have been enjoying greatly.
I have a degree in communication studies and I use the skills I learned in public speaking every day. This wasn’t necessarily the job I expected to be in, but I love it. Working for a company with such a supportive culture makes it easier to do my job. Everyone at Subaru wants to see you succeed. The ability to connect and learn every aspect of the business helps you thrive in your career. My first manager at Subaru was a woman. Being a young female in the industry, it was amazing for me to have the chance to work with a strong female leader. Women are still largely underrepresented in the automotive industry so it was encouraging and personally meant a lot to have my first manager be a woman.
I’ve had so many amazing opportunities through Subaru, but my favorite volunteer experience was participating in a Make-A-Wish® wish granting. A child who wished to sing at her own concert got to perform in front of a public audience after taking voice lessons. Our zone office was part of her concert crowd, and she signed autographs afterward. What made that experience even more worthwhile was learning that a couple of years later, she was in remission from cancer. Subaru’s unmatched culture and brand identity have inspired me to devote time to others both within the company and in the community. Success is a by-product of working hard and believing that your team’s results make an impact for Subaru.
I’ve worked for Subaru for 10 years. Their openness to diversity has allowed me to work with people from many different backgrounds and departments. This motivates me to continue improving my skills and to help others succeed. Subaru is unique in that I have the autonomy to make decisions to improve the team’s overall performance and adjust as needed. Besides good pay and benefits, there is a great work-life balance, which includes having weekends free.
Subaru is a unique place to work for many reasons. The biggest and most obvious reason is the people. Subaru is a company that cares about its people and the lives they live. The Love Promise defines our culture and sets the tone for how we relate to one another as well as our community, customers, retailers, and partners. I am most inspired by the genuine love and respect everyone here displays. It’s real and makes all the difference when you think about coming to work every day. My degree is in psychology, so no, I’m not working in my field of study. That said, I use the knowledge I gained studying psychology every day in my role as leader of the Customer Advocacy Department. A good role makes you grow professionally and personally. In particular, leading others makes me think about myself differently and challenges me to become a better version of myself.
In my position, I get to wear many hats and work with all types of departments in Subaru, such as IT, accounting, the training center, field teams, facilities, and so many more. I learn so much about things I never expected to learn. If you want to join Subaru, my advice would be to have an open mind to continuous improvement and fueling the business, as we truly do care about being More Than a Car Company®.

Unlike other OEM educational programs, Subaru-U is designed to create a unique partnership between Subaru of America, the retailer, and high performing ASE Foundation accredited secondary and post-secondary schools. By infusing Subaru's Web-Based Training (WBT), Technical Training Materials and technical resources into the existing curriculum, students can complete the same entry-level training that is required of all Subaru technicians. Students at participating Subaru-U partner schools can gain valuable knowledge of Subaru vehicle systems that can better prepare them for possible employment in any one of approximately 633 Subaru retailers nationwide. Students who apprentice at a Subaru retailer and their participating instructors are also eligible for additional training through Subaru. Retailers are also encouraged to take an active role with their local partner schools and benefit by shaping the technicians of tomorrow. There is no cost to the student to participate in this program. Subaru employs regional Managers which support the Subaru University program. Visit the Subaru-U.com site for further information.
