  • Every 2026 Subaru Outback model features the capability of standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. This system is designed to optimize traction in rain, snow, on bad roads, or even when there’s no road at all. It constantly evaluates acceleration, braking, and cornering in real time to continuously deliver power to all four wheels. If a wheel slips, power is instantaneously transferred to the wheels that have the most grip.

  • With its exceptionally balanced layout, Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive delivers a solid connection with the road and an engaged, responsive drive. The entire system lies along the centerline of the vehicle, balancing weight distribution between the two sides to help provide optimal performance and control.

  • Up to 9.5 Inches of Ground Clearance and X-MODE®

    With up to 9.5 inches of ground clearance and standard X-MODE, Outback AWD midsize SUVs can take you almost anywhere. X-MODE works by optimizing the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system for maximum traction on slippery surfaces and Hill Descent Control gives you extra stability and confidence when descending more difficult grades. Dual-function X-MODE allows even more control with settings for snow, dirt, deep snow, and mud.

  • Every Outback SUV features upgraded standard EyeSight Driver Assist Technology for 2026. EyeSight acts like an extra set of eyes on the road and if need be, an extra foot on the brake. EyeSight includes a number of advanced active safety systems to protect you and your family on every drive. Newly available Hands-Free Assist can help reduce driver fatigue with automatic steering control under certain conditions. Emergency Stop Assist with Safe Lane Selection, also newly available, can automatically steer toward the shoulder, bring the vehicle to a stop, and activate the hazard lights in the event the driver is incapacitated. Automatic Emergency Steering can help you avoid a collision by providing automatic steering and pre-collision braking support if it determines there’s enough space to intervene. EyeSight and other safety features in the Outback Wilderness have been calibrated to match its increased ground clearance and trail-ready upgrades.

  • Automatic Pre-Collision Braking helps avoid or reduce frontal impacts by alerting you and applying full braking force in emergency situations. Pre-Collision Throttle Management can reduce the power from the engine to help minimize the possible impact force and frontal impact damage.

  • Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering adds extra convenience and safety on every trip. Just choose the distance you want to keep from the car in front of you and it can take some of the stress out of everyday driving by helping with steering, braking, and throttle control while maintaining a safe distance ahead.

  • Subaru Multimedia System with New Standard 12.1-Inch Touchscreen

    The 2026 Outback and Outback Wilderness feature a Subaru Multimedia System with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration, which lets you view and control your navigation, music, podcasts, and other content and apps without needing to plug in your smartphone. An all-new 12.1-inch touchscreen is standard for intuitive control of your entertainment and navigation as well as a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Wireless Bluetooth® pairing and hands-free smartphone operation allow for safe and easy connection to your favorite apps and content.

  • Daring Design Upgrades Inside and Out

    The beloved Outback, built to help you discover some of the best views on Earth, has an entirely new look. The 2026 Outback debuts a striking upright profile with a new grille, newly available 19-inch wheels, and clean, modern lines. The 2026 Outback Wilderness builds on that design with tough protective cladding, unique accents, and adventurous elements like an integrated exterior gear rest in the rear gate. Inside there’s a new digital instrument cluster, new premium materials, and more passenger and cargo space than the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, or Mazda CX-50. Whichever Outback you choose, you’ll get plenty of spacious comfort and room for gear with up to 112.3 cubic feet of passenger volume and up to 80.5 cubic feet of maximum cargo volume.
