  • The standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system in the Forester is designed to optimize traction in rain, snow, on rough roads, or even when there’s no road at all. It constantly evaluates acceleration, braking, and cornering in real time to continuously deliver power to all four wheels. If a wheel slips, power is instantaneously transferred to the wheels that have the most grip.

  • With its exceptionally balanced layout, Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive delivers a solid connection with the road and an engaged, responsive drive. The entire system lies along the centerline of the vehicle, balancing weight distribution between the two sides to help provide optimal performance and control.

    Dual-Function X-MODE®

    The Forester offers the confident capability of available dual-function X-MODE. This system works with the standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive to provide maximum traction in slippery conditions and features settings for dirt/snow and deep snow/mud.

  • The 2025 Forester AWD compact SUV features upgraded standard EyeSight Driver Assist Technology with a wider field of view and greater range for even more confidence and peace of mind. EyeSight acts like an extra set of eyes on the road and, if need be, an extra foot on the brake when you drive. EyeSight includes a number of advanced active safety systems to protect you and your family on every drive. Automatic Emergency Steering is available to help you avoid collisions by providing automatic steering and pre-collision braking support if it determines there’s enough space to intervene. 

  • Automatic Pre-Collision Braking  helps you avoid or reduce frontal impacts by alerting you and applying full braking force in emergency situations. Pre-Collision Throttle Management can reduce the power from the engine to help minimize the possible impact force and frontal impact damage.

  • Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering adds extra convenience and safety on every drive. Just choose the distance you want to keep from the car in front of you and it can take some of the stress out of everyday driving by helping with steering, braking, and throttle control while maintaining a safe distance ahead.

    All-Around Awareness Technologies

    The 2025 Forester features an entire suite of available safety technologies to help protect you and your passengers. A newly available 360-degree Surround View Monitor provides a top-down view of the vehicle’s surroundings to enhance awareness when parking. The Blind-Spot Detection system warns you with a visual indicator on each side mirror if it senses a vehicle in your blind spots. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert helps warn you of traffic approaching from the side as you are backing up. And with available Reverse Automatic Braking, your vehicle can even stop itself to help avoid objects behind you.

    MySubaru Connected Services offers an array of connected services to help keep you and your Forester safe whether you're in your vehicle, at your computer, or on your smartphone. Advanced Automatic Collision Notification will alert an operator in the event of an accident and SOS Emergency Assistance can get you roadside help at the push of a button. Remote Engine Start with Climate Control, accessible via your smartphone, ensures your Forester is always ready and comfortable. There are also MySubaru Concierge services for personal assistance with tasks like navigation, restaurant reservations, and scheduling service appointments.

    Subaru DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System

    The 2025 Forester features a state-of-the-art system to help reduce distracted driving for both new and experienced drivers. Each day in the United States, more than 1,000 people are injured in crashes reported to have involved a distracted driver. Working with our award-winning EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, the DriverFocus system is like having an attentive co-pilot along for the ride, available to give a helpful alert if a driver becomes distracted or drowsy. For added convenience, DriverFocus can also recognize up to five different drivers and remember their preferences, including seat position, climate settings, and outside mirror position.

    High-Strength Crash Protection

    The 2025 Forester is built on the Subaru Global Platform, which uses high-strength steel for enhanced crash safety, long-lasting quality, and a quieter cabin. The Forester also features 8 airbags, height-adjustable head restraints in every seating position, and a ring-shaped reinforcement frame as standard equipment to help provide all-around impact protection.

    The Forester interior is completely redesigned for 2025 with even more convenient, intuitive features. Along with premium soft-touch materials and excellent visibility, there’s newly available technology like an 11.6-inch high-resolution touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration and wireless device charging. The spacious cabin provides plenty of room for comfort with up to 110.8 cubic feet of passenger space — more than the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, or Hyundai Tucson. With the available built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, everyone can enjoy their connected devices on every trip.

    The 2025 Forester features a Subaru Multimedia System with newly available wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. Now it’s even easier to view and control your navigation, music, podcasts, and other content and apps without needing to plug in your smartphone. A high-resolution 11.6-inch touchscreen is also available for intuitive control of your entertainment and navigation. Wireless charging is available to conveniently keep your compatible devices powered up so you can leave the cables at home. Wireless Bluetooth® pairing and hands-free smartphone operation allow for safe and easy connection to your favorite apps and content.

    Available Hands-Free Power Rear Gate

    The 2025 Forester makes all your errands easier with a newly available foot-activated hands-free Power Rear Gate. Simply lift your foot under the rear bumper to open the gate and you can conveniently load your shopping bags or luggage. It can also close itself and lock the entire vehicle with the touch of a button.

    Plenty of Cargo Room with Extra-Wide Rear Gate Opening

    Haul more gear for your adventures with up to 74.4 cubic feet of cargo space and easily load and unload large items with an extra-wide rear gate opening. The Forester adapts to bring longer items by simply adjusting the 60/40-split flat-folding rear seats.

    The 2025 Forester features a completely redesigned exterior that balances tough SUV design with sophisticated touches, including modern elements like a bold new grille, striking headlight styling, geometric trim accents, and muscular design contours.

  • The Forester Touring gives the all-wheel drive compact SUV even more high-quality comfort and elegant style. The exterior features exclusive accents, trim, and 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside, there’s available two-tone leather-trimmed upholstery with Ultrasuede® inserts, standard heated front and rear outboard seats, and a standard Harman Kardon® premium audio system for an elevated driving experience no matter where you roam.
