  • A fuel-efficient compact SUV with gas mileage of up to 33 MPG, every Forester features the legendary capability and dependable confidence of standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Designed to optimize traction in rain, snow, and on rough roads, this system constantly evaluates acceleration, braking, and cornering in real time to continuously deliver power to all four wheels. If a wheel slips, power is instantaneously transferred to the wheels that have the most grip.

  • With its exceptionally balanced layout, Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive delivers a solid connection with the road and an engaged, responsive drive. The entire system lies along the centerline of the vehicle, balancing weight distribution between the two sides to help provide optimal performance and control.

  • Up to 9.3 Inches of Ground Clearance

    With 9.3 inches of ground clearance, the Forester Wilderness is equipped to take on ruts, rocks, and other obstacles on the trail, making it the perfect choice for your next off-road SUV. All other Forester models feature 8.7 inches of clearance to traverse deep snow and mud. The Forester features available X-MODE® with Hill Descent Control, which electronically optimizes the engine, transmission, and other systems for increased traction in slippery conditions. Available dual-function X-MODE gives you extra control over the traction system with settings for snow, dirt, deep snow, and mud.

  • Every 2026 Forester AWD compact SUV features standard EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, which acts like an extra set of eyes on the road and if need be, an extra foot on the brake. EyeSight includes a number of advanced active safety systems to protect you and your family on every drive. Automatic Emergency Steering is available to help you avoid collisions by providing automatic steering and pre-collision braking support if it determines there’s enough space to intervene. 

  • Automatic Pre-Collision Braking helps you avoid or reduce frontal impacts by alerting you and applying full braking force in emergency situations. Pre-Collision Throttle Management can reduce the power from the engine to help minimize the possible impact force and frontal impact damage.

  • Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering adds extra convenience and safety on every drive. Just choose the distance you want to keep from the car in front of you and it can take some of the stress out of everyday driving by helping with steering, braking, and throttle control while maintaining a safe distance ahead.

  • Subaru Multimedia System with Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™

    All 2026 Forester SUVs feature a Subaru Multimedia System with available wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration, which lets you view and control your navigation, music, podcasts, and other content and apps without needing to plug in your smartphone. A high-resolution 11.6-inch touchscreen is also available for intuitive control of your entertainment and navigation. Wireless charging is available to conveniently keep your compatible devices powered so you can leave the cables at home. Wireless Bluetooth® pairing and hands-free smartphone operation allow for safe and easy connection to your favorite apps and content.

There’s more passenger room than the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, or Mazda CX-5. An extra-wide rear gate opening and available foot-activated power rear gate makes it easy to load gear, and you can fit more cargo in a Forester than the Toyota RAV4 or Mazda CX-5. An available 11.6-inch high-resolution Subaru Multimedia touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration plus wireless charging add entertainment and convenience to every drive. There are also premium upholstery options available, including leather- and Dinamica®-trimmed or durable StarTex® upholstery for extra comfort and style.
