Cloud Navigation

Features provide route details, turn-by-turn guidance options, alternate routes, and views of live traffic. The map information is based on vehicle location and updates with the latest information as you drive your Solterra and routes are set.

Wi-Fi Hotspot with Integrated Streaming

Your Solterra comes equipped with a powerful Wi-Fi hotspot that allows your passengers to stream their favorite content on up to five devices. Automatic Collision Notification

Automatic Collision Notification will alert a Solterra Connect Customer Care Advisor 24/7/365. The advisor will then promptly communicate via the speakers in your Solterra and alert the appropriate first responder.

Emergency Assistance Button

Press the Emergency Assistance button in the Solterra to reach a Solterra Connect Customer Care Advisor who can request dispatch of necessary emergency services to the GPS location of your vehicle in case of a medical or other emergency on the road.

Stolen Vehicle Locator

Intelligent Assistant combines the native on-board assistant voice command functions with off-board cloud computing, creating a natural and easy-to-use voice vehicle interaction experience. Intelligent Assistant allows you to control the multimedia system with voice command and allows you to operate cloud navigation, integrated streaming, radio, phone, and climate. Simply say "Hey, Subaru" or "OK, Subaru" to get started.

Destination Assist

Connect to a live agent 24/7 who can provide you with directions through your Solterra navigation to an address or point of interest such as a restaurant, hotel or charging station.

Traffic Jam Assist

When Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Tracing Assist are enabled, Traffic Jam Assist provides hands-free steering assistance with driver supervision in low-speed traffic jams (up to 25 MPH) on most major highways to help make traveling through congestion safer and easier.

Lane Change Assist

This feature is designed to assist with changing lanes safely in cooperation with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Tracing Assist. Lane Change Assist watches for other vehicles as you move into a new lane, helps with steering, and automatically cancels your turn signal once the lane change is complete.

FAQ

Subaru Solterra Connect is the shared name for the infotainment system, the telematics system, and the mobile app, providing a seamless experience for Solterra owners whether driving or away from the vehicle.

Solterra Connect provides you with connected safety, security, and convenience features for your Solterra SUV. Solterra Connect uses a nationwide AT&T 4G LTE cellular network (where available) and is highly integrated with your smartphone device by leveraging the Solterra Connect app.

With Solterra Connect, you can:

  • Receive automatic emergency assistance in the event of a collision
  • Receive assistance in the event your vehicle is stolen
  • Remotely access vehicle features
  • Monitor the status of your vehicle’s health
  • Use cloud-based navigation services and have access to an Intelligent Assistant

Solterra owners will use the SUBARU SOLTERRA CONNECT app, which is available in Apple and Google app stores. Only Solterra VINs can be used in the Solterra Connect app. All other Subaru models will continue to use the MySubaru app.

If you own a Solterra and another Subaru model, you will use two different apps for their connected services: the Solterra Connect app for your Solterra and the MySubaru app for your other vehicle(s).

Solterra Connect is an opt-out service as opposed to STARLINK, which is opt-in. Certain system functions are active and operational once the vehicle is started for the first time. To activate all of the Solterra Connect services, you will need to download the Solterra Connect app, pair your smartphone with your Solterra from inside the vehicle, create a user profile, and complete the registration process. 

To determine phone compatibility with the Solterra Connect App, please refer to the applicable app store.

  • Sit in the Solterra vehicle.
  • Follow the directions on the head unit.
  • Enter phone number.
  • A message will be sent to your phone with a link to download the Subaru Solterra Connect mobile application from the Apple or Google app store (device-dependent).
  • Within the app, create a Solterra Connect account.
  • Within the app, follow the instructions provided onscreen to add the vehicle by scanning the in-vehicle QR code located on the head unit or by requesting and entering the code manually.
  • Follow the instructions within the Solterra Connect app to complete user profile creation.
  • Accept the Master Data Consent and Subaru Service Connect Communication terms to start using Connected Services.
  • You will also be prompted to pair your phone to the vehicle via Bluetooth and you can choose to connect your device to the vehicle via Bluetooth and set up Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

Solterra Connect is an opt-out service, meaning that certain system functions by default are turned on automatically. If you want to opt out of all Connected Services, you can do so within the Solterra Connect App by pressing the in-vehicle SOS button or by calling a Solterra Connect Customer Care Advisor at (866) 384-3574.

Access all of the remote services and convenient features of Subaru Solterra Connect with its intuitive and convenient mobile app. It makes your phone the perfect companion for your Solterra. You can start your subscription quickly, easily, and right in the app. A trial or active subscription is required to use Solterra Connect.
