If you are not satisfied with our resolution of a warranty concern, these are the specific steps that you must follow in California when providing notice to Subaru of America (Code Civ. Proc. §871.24(a)-(d)):

At least 30 days prior to the commencement of an action seeking civil penalties under subdivision (c) of Section 1794 of the Civil Code, you must do all of the following:

  • Notify Subaru of your name, the accurate Vehicle Identification Number (“VIN”) of your motor vehicle, and a brief summary of the repair history and problems with your motor vehicle.
  • Demand that Subaru repurchase or replace your motor vehicle.

Minor deviations in your notice to Subaru will not disqualify you from seeking civil penalties. At the time that you submit the notice to Subaru, you must have possession of your motor vehicle. Your notice to Subaru must be in writing and must be sent either by email to CAWrittenNotice@Subaru.com, or by certified or registered mail, return receipt requested, to 1 Subaru Drive, Camden NJ, 08103, ATTN: Customer Advocacy Department.
