According to the ASPCA®, each year approximately 6.3 million companion animals enter shelters. At Subaru, we are committed to helping all animals — including those in shelters — stay safe and healthy. Through our Love Promise and Subaru Loves Pets™ initiative, Subaru retailers host adoption events across the country to help local shelter pets find loving homes.
Subaru and our retailers are proud to have donated over $42 million to national and local organizations, which has allowed us to help in the adoption, rescue, transport, and health care of nearly 350,000 animals and pets.
During the month of October, for Subaru Loves Pets Month, Subaru and our retailers partner with hundreds of local animal shelters to help pets find a loving home. On October 22, we proudly celebrated our fourth annual National Make A Dog's Day, a day created by Subaru to invite all dog lovers to do something special for their furry family members. We especially celebrated those shelter animals who need our love the most — the older, physically challenged, and “different” dogs we lovingly call “the Underdogs.”
Since 2008, Subaru has donated over $33 million to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®) to impact nearly 104,000 animals.
Subaru sponsored two studies conducted by the Center for Pet Safety.
BARK has been turning tail wags into full-body wiggles since 2012, now with 2.3 million active subscriptions (and a lot more happy dogs). Subaru and BARK have partnered since 2016 as part of the annual Subaru Loves Pets month to support dog adoptions from participating rescues and shelters.
