There's a certain kind of hero that doesn't wear a cape or stand in the spotlight. Mine has always waited quietly in the driveway — boxer engine humming softly, headlights glowing like an old friend. My hero is Subaru. I've owned nine of them over the years, each one a chapter in my life. Some people mark time in jobs or houses… I mark mine in Foresters. The first Subaru carried me across rain-slick Pacific Northwest highways, surfboard strapped to the roof, camera in my hand, salt wind in my lungs. It was more than a car — it was a promise that adventure was always just one left turn out of town. Then came the Foresters that changed everything. Three babies. Three homecomings. Three different Foresters. Each one rolled up to the hospital not just as transportation, but as a guardian — steady, warm, and ready. Those moments weren't fast or loud like rally stages. They were quiet victories. Midnight drives. Tired smiles. A tiny heartbeat asleep in the back seat while the rain tapped softly on the glass. Subaru was the hero in every scene — not dramatic, not boastful — just there… every mile, every season, every fragile beginning. I was serving in the military through many of those years, learning discipline, resilience, and purpose. And every time I came home — to my family, my coastline, my PNW rain — Subaru was the bridge between those worlds. Duty on one side. Love, salt air, and muddy trailheads on the other. As a photographer, I captured it all — fog drifting through tall pines, gravel roads curling into the mountains, golden sunsets reflecting off weathered body panels. Subaru didn't pose for the camera. It lived — and I chased the moments. Rally legends like Colin McRae and Travis Pastrana didn't just race Subarus… they shaped the spirit that lived inside mine. Every gravel road felt like a stage. Every crest whispered: send it. Subaru taught me that courage wasn't recklessness — it was commitment with heart. Today, my 2004 Subaru Forester is becoming something more than a build. It's a tribute — to family, to adventure, to rally heritage, to the wild, wet soul of the Pacific Northwest. It's the coolest car a daughter could ever inherit — not because it's perfect, but because it's alive with stories. Dirt on the tires. Salt in the carpet. Memories in every mile. Subaru has been the hero of my life's journey — the quiet constant through fatherhood, service, love, photography, surfing, and every gravel-dusted dream along the way. And the story isn't finished yet. The engine still hums. The road still calls. And my hero is always ready.

Retired military family that loves road-tripping and bridge hunting, especially the covered variety. Rugged roads and trails are nothing for our third Subaru in 30 years. We love our newest "Adventure Wagon." Thank you for a fantastic automobile.

I am so incredibly thrilled to be a part of the Subaru Family and to be on my second Subaru! I am the proud owner of a new 2024 Solterra in HARBOR MIST GRAY PEARL, TW named "Bluey"! We looked at Tesla but couldn't pass up the deal with leasing a Solterra. I drive on average 50 miles a day and was looking at a more commuter friendly option hence, the ev curiosity. I decided to check out Heuberger and see what the Solterra was like since I have bought my first Subaru from them (2017 Outback). Subarus are well known for their performance especially in the winter months. I loved my Outback. It was a great family car and survived two cross country moves filled with stuff, dogs and kids due to my husband's military career. We have now planted roots back in Colorado since he has gotten out. I just wanted to share my excitement for this new vehicle and earning that 2nd Subaru badge of ownership! I hope to make it up to the 5+ Subarus as the years pass and the kids grow up. Thanks for another great experience through Heuberger Subaru here in Colorado Springs with Michael B. and I am looking forward to driving my new Solterra!

I had bought my first Subaru while I was still in the military and single in Virginia. I knew I was going to love the car when the next day after I bought the car it started snowing and it handled it like a pro. I put many miles on that first Subaru, coast to coast and border to border. Not once did I ever have any issue with my Crosstrek and I loved every aspect of it. Now fast forward 4 years it was time to get a new car, as a new father and husband. I knew I wanted to stay with a Subaru so we upgraded to an Outback. Subaru is the brand I trust to carry what I love most in this world. I am ready for many more miles and memories as a family now in our Outback. We could not be more happy, or comfy in our new ride and I love the peace of mind knowing we are safe wherever our journey may take us. Thank you Subaru!

I owned a Subaru GL-10 way back in 1986, and it was economical, had room, a hatch, and besides the funny flat four noises and being a bit slow, it was smooth and vibration-free. At the time, I was in the military. I did over 400 search and rescue cases and saved a lot of lives. Most recently, my American car make of choice simply ran out of options for me, so I turned back to looking high and low. I checked out Subaru, and I am very happy I did. As an older guy, buying a WRX came as a bit of a surprise to the dealer and to friends, but we just got back to Jersey from a trip to Atlanta and Florida. Wow, what a car!

I am the proud owner of a 2015 Subaru Outback and over the past couple of days, I've been stopped by two separate individuals asking how I like my Subaru. I love my Subaru. This is the first Subaru I've owned but have enjoyed its capability in all kinds of weather. I expressed to the people that gas mileage is great for its size and it handles well. One of the main reasons we got a Subaru was because we were a military family transferring to the Philadelphia area where there is a lot of snow. Moving from South Carolina to Pennsylvania required a vehicle that could handle the weather conditions as well as tote around myself, my husband, two teenagers, and two dogs. This vehicle does that!

We still have our 2006 Subaru Tribeca that we purchased new in Virginia Beach right after our son was born. We are a military family so we travel and move often. Our “Subi” has been there for us on the past six of our moves, including Hawaii and Europe, and it’s still going strong! It has great stories: Like a little dent on top from us removing our kayak from the roof in Hawaii a little too excitedly. Or this scratch from all the off and ons of my husband’s road bike as he cycles around the world. Or the little dents that I can still see in the back seat from our kids’ booster seats, even though our oldest will be starting high school next year. I was just looking at the car the other day and I love that we made a wise decision to buy such a quality vehicle that has literally taken us around the world! I hope that it continues. Oh, the memories it's still making!

In the military, duty calls. When I had to drive my 1986 Subaru GL from northern Texas to New Mexico in March of 2018, I was concerned for its age and mileage, but I trusted it. I packed all of my belongings into it and made the drive without a single problem. Fast forward to July 2018, I'm on the way home from a movie and a pickup truck fails to yield to traffic and runs into the side of my car. When I got out and saw the damage, I was surprised I was walking away without a scratch. Yeah, my Subaru was claimed as totaled, but it gave its life to protect mine.

As a veteran of this great nation and a proud Subaru owner, I have seen much around the world. But it is a blessing to see the areas here that I and many others selflessly protected. After departing the military, I sank into many dark times, and once I found the light once again, I also found my Subaru. I have taken it to Subaru rally events from east to west and many places in between. The first adventure to Zion National Park for myself and my Outback was amazing and full of wildlife sightings. At moments, it felt like I was the first to discover an area due to the low numbers of visitors and cooler temperatures. The way the light changes through the day is impeccable, and it’s always nice to see fellow Subaru owners enjoying the lands and parks we freely get to roam. So get out and adventure more in your Subaru, and I hope to find you on the open road!
