Subaru Award-winning Safety

The 2016 Legacy is carefully engineered to protect what’s inside. All-new SUBARU STARLINK
Safety and Security connected services offer instant access to help when you need it most 24/7,
365 days a year.1 Its AWD capability means you’ll have control, even in unfavorable weather.
There are also available features like Blind-Spot Detection, Lane Keep Assist and Rear Cross-
Traffic Alert2 to help you avoid a collision.

Rear-Vision Camera

Before you can avoid danger, you have to see it coming. The Legacy features
a standard Rear-Vision Camera that gives you a clearer view of the area behind
your vehicle, so you can be in charge of your surroundings.

Rear Cross-Traffic Alert

The Rear Cross-Traffic Alert uses radar sensors to help warn you of traffic approaching from
the side as you are backing up, utilizing an audible warning and flashing visual indicators in
your side mirrors and Rear-Vision Camera.2

Blind-Spot Detection

Using radar sensors, the Blind-Spot Detection warns you with a visual indicator in your side
mirror if it senses a vehicle in your blind spot on either side.

Passenger Protection

To help keep occupants safe, we included eight standard airbags, including front-seat
cushion airbags that help keep occupants in place in the event of a crash.3

All-Around Protection

Should the unexpected happen, you can count on the exceptionally strong
Ring-shaped Reinforcement Frame to help protect everyone inside.

Exceptional Control

Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive helps keep things stable in emergency maneuvers, while
VDC electronic stability control can detect a loss of control and intervene to help keep you on
your intended path. There are also powerful and reliable disc brakes to give you confidence
in braking with advanced Brake Assist to help apply maximum pressure when you need it.

Disclaimer
  1. Activation and required subscription sold separately. Includes one year trial subscription. See your retailer for details.
  2. Blind-Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are systems designed to assist the driver by monitoring the rear and side areas of the vehicle during a lane change or reversing and are not a substitute for safe and attentive driving.
  3. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) (airbags) affords the driver and the front and rear outboard passengers additional protection in moderate to severe frontal and side-impact collisions. This system provides supplemental protection only, and seatbelts must be worn to avoid injuries to out-of-position occupants upon airbag deployment and to provide the best combined protection in a serious accident. Children should always be properly restrained in the rear seat.
