Vehicle (PZEV)-rated3, it’s one of the cleanest gasoline-powered crossovers

Transmissions
The low-maintenance Lineartronic® CVT smoothly gets the most from
your Forester. Rather than shifting through each gear, it continuously
adjusts to the engine’s demands to ensure the highest MPG possible.
A 6-speed manual transmission is also available if you prefer to keep
the control in your hands.
