“We’re a Subaru family. The 1992 Legacy
pictured on the far right was my first Subaru.
It has been the greatest, most reliable car I
could ever ask for. All my kids have used it
through their high school years and further. It
was comforting to know they were driving a
car that I completely trusted. When my last
child graduated from high school, I got myself
a 2011 Outback. My oldest daughter decided
to buy a 2011 Legacy, so her younger sister
could buy her 2006 Legacy to drive to college.
Now, my youngest drives the 1992 Legacy.
We have had the best experience with
Subarus and won’t own anything else. We

“When I retired from the MN Department of
Natural Resources, my wife Mary, Labrador Bridger,
and I headed out in our Outback toward Bozeman,
Montana to ski and party in this beautiful
college town in the mountains. Our son Josh, his

made the same trip in their Outback, forging their
way through negative 30 degree temperatures and
blowing snow. Not to miss a party, Betsy’s parents
jumped into their Outback and climbed over the
snow-covered pass from Kalispell, MT. This is one

was a ’79 wagon! My mom, Rosemary, is with her
second Subaru (’09 Legacy), I’m posing with my
first (’05 Legacy, which was previously my mom’s),
and brother Dave is shown here with his third
(2012 WRX). Family pride!”

“Our family loves every one of our Subaru cars. We
got our first, a DL wagon, in 1973. We have always
owned at least one Subaru since that time and
currently we own not one, not two, not three, but
six Subaru cars! Our ’93 has 371,000 miles by itself,
and three other cars have a combined 867,000
miles! We get just a little bit attached to our Sube
cars! They carry everything; from surfboards to
snowboards to kayaks, from Santa Cruz, CA to
Lake Tahoe, NV!”
