What is Bluetooth® Technology?

Bluetooth technology allows two electronic devices to transfer data between them over relatively short distances. It's similar to a Wi-Fi system for your computer, but with fewer authentication steps.

In which Subaru vehicles can BlueConnect be installed?
  • 2012 Outback 2.5i and 3.6R models
  • 2012 Forester 2.5X and Tribeca 3.6R

How do I know if my phone will work with BlueConnect?

Check the phone compatibility tool. If a phone is not listed, then it has not been tested and compatibility is unknown.

Can I pair a Bluetooth adapter with BlueConnect?

No, BlueConnect is only compatible with cell phones that have Bluetooth built in and that are listed as a compatible phone.

Will I be able to transfer my phonebook entries into to the BlueConnect phonebook?

No, the system does not support phonebook transfers via Bluetooth. You must enter phone book entries using voice commands.

What should I do if BlueConnect does not auto-connect to my previously paired phone?

Please make sure that Bluetooth functions are turned "ON" and/or "Discoverable" at all times on your phone. Also, make sure that BlueConnect is marked as a "trusted" device. This will allow BlueConnect to automatically connect to your phone when it is in range. Please refer to your phone owner's manual for details on adjusting the Bluetooth settings.
