Rapid changes in weather and bright fall foliage mark the Lake Superior Rally as one of the most exciting and beautiful rallies on the 2009 championship schedule. Headquartered in the town of Houghton, MI, the area is rich in mining history and outdoor activities. The race begins in Houghton, which is located in the middle of the Keweenaw Peninsula in northern Michigan. It then heads north, snaking its way up into the tip of the Peninsula, with beautiful views of Lake Superior along the way. Stunning, autumn blue skies can turn to heavy rain, sleet or even snow in a matter of minutes, which means that drivers must stay on their toes for the entirety of the race.

Launch Control - Episode 14: "In The End - Part 2"
By: Subaru - November 07, 2013
With an unbroken string of podium finishes, Subaru Rally Team USA has lead the Rally America Championship for the majority of the season. However, with the competition stepping up their game and only two events remaining, the points gap has tightened. Hanging dust, power steering failure, and injuries to David Higgins at the penultimate event have put the Subaru team into damage control. Their ability to finish the event is now in question, but with bandages and ice David Higgins refuses to give up valuable championship points and finishes the Ojibwe Rally. The final rally will be a winner-take-all battle royale.
SRT USA wins 2013 Rally America National Championship
By: Subaru - October 21, 2013
Subaru Rally Team USA's David Higgins and co-driver Craig Drew were crowned the 2013 Rally America National Champions, with a spectacular victory at the Lake Superior Performance Rally (LSPR); the final round of the 2013 Rally America Championship. Higgins entered LSPR locked in an epic season-long battle with rival Ken Block. Block needed a win at LSPR to steal the championship away from Higgins, who had led in points nearly all season. Higgins and Block both drove flat-out at LSPR, with Higgins edging ahead of Block near the mid-point of the rally. After sustaining heavy damage by rolling his car, Block retired, handing Higgins the rally win and more importantly the Championship, his third Rally America Driver's Title in a row.

Higgins and Drew 2nd at Ojibwe Forests Rally
By: Subaru - August 25, 2013
David Higgins and Craig Drew were determined to charge for the win. After running two spectator stages 10 miles east of Fargo, ND, SRT USA #75 headed back into the forest. Higgins and Drew were in the groove and won Stage 9 - Anchor Mattson, putting them just 31 seconds behind rival Ken Block. A stiff twenty miles per hour wind had trees swaying and dust dissipating quickly. It seemed as though the stage had been set for an SRT USA comeback, however, an unbelievable chain of events would occur making any progress towards the lead impossible. On Stage 10 they had a power steering issue and shortly thereafter something in the road surface snapped the wheel seriously injuring David Higgins' hand. With possibly broken fingers and a stiff steering, the duo raced towards the finish but another stage win was out of the question. Immediately after the stage David pulled over and was working under the hood to try and repair the steering when, impossibly, his foot was run over by an event medical crew. Rattled by the series of events, David and Craig proceeded to the next stage. There was even talk of Craig Drew driving, but David decided he could do it. What could possibly happen next? While waiting for the stage start a tree came crashing down in front of SRT USA #75 blocking the road. They eventually made it back to Service but it was clear that it was not meant to be. David and Craig heroically completed the event and with uttermost frustration settled for 2nd. The showdown for the 2013 Rally America Championship will continue at the Lake Superior Rally on Oct 18-19 in Houghton, Michigan.

By: Subaru - October 19, 2009
Subaru Rally Team USA driver Travis Pastrana put an authoritative stamp on his fourth consecutive Rally America National Championship with a dominating win at the 2009 Lake Superior Performance Rally (LSPR). Pastrana, from Davidsonville, MD, mathematically won the 2009 Rally America Championship at the Ojibwe Forests Rally in late August.
