Picture the noise, dirt, and excitement of rally racing set against the picturesque, serene backdrop of the Ozark Mountains and you have just imagined the precise setting of the 100 Acre Wood Rally: The ultimate example of man versus nature. As a rally named after the wooded home of the fictional character, Winnie the Pooh, the scenery is so sublime that at first glance it truly appears to be out of a children's book. With streams and vistas around every twisting turn, the natural beauty of the area only helps to enhance the excitement of the rally. Dry, fast roads laced with hairpin turns are a constant for this race and test the drivers' skills to the extreme. Whether a spectator or a competitor, this rally is not to be missed!

David Higgins and Craig Drew of Subaru Rally Team USA may be back-to-back champions, but at the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood, Ken Block has been king. A win here at round two for Higgins would rock the boat and shake things up for the rest of the series. But, an overnight storm in Missouri has dumped snow on the high-speed stages, placing the whole outcome into question. Can the teams keep it on the road in the treacherous conditions? Can Higgins and Drew get their first career win at this event?
David Higgins and Craig Drew had an amazing comeback during Day 2 of the STPR rally. Starting in 21st place overall, getting onto the podium was a daunting, but welcomed challenge. SRT USA #75 rocketed off the line on Stage 6 and all was going to plan, until after about 8 miles in a left 3 turn, the car kicked out unexpectedly. Two large trees loomed on the outside while David and Craig thought they were going to crash. They tensed and waited for the impact, but...nothing. They pulled back onto the road and Craig Drew continued calmly as if nothing had happened "...as I said, fast right long, 100, left 4..." Once clear of the Stage 6 finish, David Higgins commented "Now that's some precision parking!"
After racing through...
Launch Control: Subaru PUMA Rallycross driver Bucky Lasek gets sideways in Vermont - Episode 4
Subaru PUMA Rallycross Team driver, Bucky Lasek, drops in at Vermont SportsCar to check out his new rallycross car and show the team his gratitude. Lasek then gets sideways with Ryan Tuerck on some snow covered forest roads. Meanwhile Subaru Rally Team USA is in Missouri testing for the highspeed Rally in the 100 Acre Wood, where Mother Nature throws competitors a curve ball.
Subaru Rally Team USA driver David Higgins overcame the mud, snow, and ice that saturated the 2013 Rally in the 100 Acre Wood to take a dominating win in his 2013 Subaru WRX STI rally car. Set in Missouri's Ozark Foothills, the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood is the second round of the 2013 Rally America National Championship and is regarded as the fastest rally in the USA. However, this year a winter storm blanketed the region in a layer of ice and snow, making conditions treacherous at best. With maximum traction delivered by Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive over the difficult terrain, Higgins drove faultlessly...
Starting Day 2 with a massive lead, SRT USA's David Higgins and Craig Drew had few concerns as they climbed into their Subaru WRX STI. Ironically, David explained at the start, their one worry was driving slowly. "Anytime you try to slow down or drive conservatively you can lose your focus and make a mistake." It appears the duo didn't slow much as they proceeded to more than double their lead, winning the 2013 100 Acre Wood Rally by 8 minutes and 51 seconds. The road surfaces continued to be a challenge with some sections turning soft and muddy while shaded areas remained solidly frozen and very slippery. Regardless of the road surfaces, the Missouri spectators were out in force and determined to catch a glimpse of the action...
SRT USA is off to a fantastic start at the 2013 100 Acre Wood Rally. Despite snow and icy surfaces, David Higgins and Craig Drew expertly piloted their Subaru WRX STI to the top position and ended the day with a massive 3 minute 53 second lead. As expected, the weather stayed below freezing and clouds gave way to sunshine and clear skies as evening arrived. Surfaces ranged from unplowed snow covered roads in the morning to a tricky mix of grippy wet gravel and packed snow. This is an especially challenging surface combination since the grip can drastically change mid-turn sending cars off their intended line and possibly off the road entirely.
David Higgins commented before the start of the event that he had been looking...
Without question weather and road conditions will be the toughest challenge facing teams at this year's 100 Acre Wood Rally. After two days of successful testing on dry fast roads, David Higgins and Craig Drew were shocked to find 1-2 inches of dense ice pellets covering every single road in the Salem, Missouri area Thursday morning. David Higgins is determined to charge for the win in his #75 Subaru WRX STI, however, in light of the demanding conditions a more patient approach could be prudent. The storm has passed, but with temperatures hovering around freezing snow and ice is likely to remain on the course throughout the event.
Despite the diverse and unpredictable surfaces, it could prove to be an advantage...
SRT USA heads to the foothills of the Ozark Mountains for the 100 Acre Wood Rally
By: Subaru - February 18, 2013
The 100 Acre Wood Rally is upon us and Subaru Rally Team USA is en route to the foothills of the Ozark Mountains in Missouri. Based in the town of Salem just 2 hours south of St Louis, the 100 Acre Wood Rally will challenge teams on 129 stage miles of extremely fast flowing roads. David Higgins and Craig Drew will spend the week testing the #75 Subaru WRX STI and preparing for the event. A full course recce (course inspection) will take place on Thursday followed by the official event start on Friday afternoon at 1:30pm in Potosi. More news from Missouri soon!
The 2013 Sno*Drift Rally, round one of the 2013 Rally America National Championship, was an epic seesaw battle between defending Rally America Champion David Higgins in his Subaru WRX STI and his arch rival, Canadian Rally Champion Antoine L'Estage. Higgins won or tied eight of the event's 20 stages while trading the lead three times throughout the two-day rally. On the final stage, L'Estage pulled past Higgins to win the rally by a mere 6.2 seconds. Higgins settled for second place overall but was content with the fact that he'll get a rematch with L'Estage at the next six Rally America rounds.
The legendary Sno*Drift Rally...
After a hard fought snowy battle, David Higgins and Craig Drew ended the 2013 Sno*Drift Rally in second place. In the lead for most of the event, Higgins and Drew were confident headed into the final two stages. At the start of the penultimate stage the #75 WRX STI was 20 seconds ahead. Craig Drew commented after the event "We had just gained six seconds on the previous stage, so we figured if we did the exact same thing we would be ok". Surprisingly hard charging rival Antoine L'Estage gained back most of their advantage on the long 15 mile stage (Camp 30 - 2). After every twist, turn and icy road they had driven over the past two days it had come down to the very last stage. David Higgins and Craig Drew launched their Subaru...

Subaru Driver David Higgins Extends Rally America Championship Points Lead with 2nd Place Finish at the 2012 Rally in the 100 Acre Wood
By: Subaru - March 01, 2012
Subaru Rally Team USA driver David Higgins, the defending Rally America National Champion, has significantly extended his 2012 championship points lead with a second place finish at The Rally in the 100 Acre Wood. Higgins' two primary season-long rivals failed to finish the event thus providing...
Subaru Rally Team USA takes to the rural roads of Missouri for a fast-paced test session prior to the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood. "The feeling with our Subaru is very good," explained Higgins. "During testing this week we made some great progress and found some speed on the faster sections, which will be crucial at this event. Our goal is always to win, but I'm mindful that we are looking at the big picture and need to secure championship points first and foremost."
A cold calm set in as teams prepared for another day of racing near Salem, Missouri. Subaru Rally Team USA's David Higgins and Craig Drew were 18.6 seconds behind first place at the start of Day 2 of the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood. The plan was simple: proceed with normal effort through the first two stages; and if the gap starts closing, push for the rest of the race. With their major Rally America National Championship rivals out of the running, any finish on the podium would suffice and excessive risks would be futile.
In the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood has begun in epic style. An unprecedented sixty-three teams have entered this event, the second stop of the 2012 Rally America National Championship. Fast and flowing Missouri roads characterize this race, and they've been left parched and dusty by this year's strangely dry winter. In the early stages, the top three competitors tightly traded fastest times. David and Craig won Stage 2, but lost some time in the subsequent stages and ended the day just 18 seconds behind the lead.
In less than a week, a fierce competition will kick off in Missouri's Ozark Mountains. The Rally in the 100 Acre Wood gets underway at 1:30PM, Friday February 24th after the Parc Expose in Steelville, Missouri. Subaru Rally Team USA and Vermont SportsCar have just finalized event preparations and confirmed the #75 Subaru WRX STI is ready for action. After an extremely slippery Sno*Drift event last month, the hungry rally machine is craving fast gravel roads! David Higgins and Craig Drew are determined to break the 5-year winning streak held by former SRT USA driver Ken Block and are confident the 2012 Subaru WRX STI is the car to do it. Check back next week for race updates and photos.
New 2012 Subaru WRX STI papercraft models of SRT USA #75 are being printed! The new version contains lots of great new imagery, an even more detailed model of the car, 2012 rally schedule, car specs and more. Don’t miss out on your chance to get one. Come see us at a rally or dealer event near you to get a free copy. They will be available at the next event - Rally in the 100 Acre Wood on Feb 24-25. The event is based out of Salem, Missouri located about two hours south of St. Louis. We hope to see you there!
Subaru Rally Team USA's David Higgins and Craig Drew have won Sno*Drift, the first round of the 2012 Rally America National Championship. Though their 2012 Subaru WRX STI performed flawlessly and they walked away with a massive lead of 1 minute 48 seconds, the victory was not won without a fight. Although Friday's conditions were somewhat disappointing for a winter rally, Sno*Drift earned its moniker with a substantial dumping of powder early Saturday morning. "The completely unpredictable surface conditions and our lack of experience in winter rallying made for a huge challenge," said Higgins after the race, "but I feel, after this, we've proved ourselves in the snow."
Subaru Rally Team USA has wrapped up a second day of testing at AutoClub Speedway in Fontana, California. The 2011 Subaru WRX STI RallyCross cars of the SRT USA fleet have performed flawlessly for the past two days and have provided team technicians a trouble-free opportunity to tune and refine the vehicles for competition. The focus of these test sessions has been on the finer details of car configuration, such as suspension setup, sway bar selection, gear ratios and engine settings. These Subarus will undoubtedly deliver an eye-popping performance at X Games 17!
Watch as Subaru Rally Team USA races through the foothills of the Ozark Mountains to claim a double podium finish at the 2011 100 Acre Wood Rally.
The 2011 Rally in the 100 Acre Wood concluded with a superb dual podium finish for Subaru Rally Team USA. The #75 WRX STI piloted by David Higgins and Craig Drew scored second place followed by teammates Dave Mirra and Marshall Clarke in third driving SRT USA #40.
This weekend's rally saw a tight race between David Higgins and 2010 Rally America National Champion Antoine L'Estage. As Higgins warmed up to the event on the first day of racing, Antoine gained a 20-second lead. Higgins turned up the heat Saturday morning in an attempt to bridge the gap, but a spin cost him 30 seconds and he remained in second place despite winning four of the day's ten stages.
The Rally in the 100 Acre Wood kicked off today in Potosi, Missouri with a half-mile spectator stage before the cars dashed off to the woods to run thirty-five miles of stage road in the surrounding forests. By the second stage, Subaru Rally Team USA had secured the rankings they would maintain for the rest of the day: David Higgins and Craig Drew in the #75 Subaru WRX STI are in second place with Dave Mirra and Marshall Clarke holding third place in the #40 WRX STI. A mere twenty-two seconds separates Higgins and Drew from first place on the scoreboard and Mirra and Clarke are down a minute from their teammates. Only a third of the event's total stage mileage has been run so far, so this race is far from over.
Subaru Rally Team USA has arrived in Salem, Missouri for the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood, the second round of the 2011 Rally America National Championship. The race begins Friday after a Parc Expose in Potosi, MO, and will cover 120 miles of stage road through to Saturday night.
Subaru Rally Team USA's Dave Mirra and Marshall Clarke have started off the 2011 Rally America National Championship season with an outstanding second-place podium finish.
After a puncture last night dropped them to fifth place, Dave and Marshall ran an exceptionally clean rally and worked their way up the ranks. It was a close race to the finish for SRT USA #40 as they entered the final two stages in third place, a mere 1.8 seconds behind their closest challenger. By employing a cautious approach to the final stages, Dave and Marshall fended off the elements and bested their rival to emerge one step up the podium.

The victory, number two for Pastrana thus far in 2010, moves the defending four-time Rally America Champion up to 2nd Overall in the national point's standings...

By: Subaru - February 27, 2010

Pastrana's Subaru teammate, BMX and X Games icon Dave Mirra, finished cleanly in 4th overall as he grew more familiar with his new higher-specification Open Class Subaru STI rally car. The 100 Acre Wood Rally, based in and around Salem, Missouri, was the second stop on the six-event 2010 Rally America National Championship series...

Subaru Rally Team USA driver Travis Pastrana is back atop the Rally America National Championship standings after winning the 2009 Oregon Trail Rally this past weekend. Pastrana, the three-time defending Rally America National Champion, strode to victory in Oregon with a faultless drive behind the wheel of his 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX STI rally car, winning by nearly one minute. Pastrana and his co-driver Christian Edstrom have now won three of the first four Rally America rounds and are in prime position to challenge for a fourth consecutive championship with five rounds remaining...
Subaru Driver Travis Pastrana Claims Victory at Olympus Rally, Notches Second Win of 2009 Season
By: Subaru - April 20, 2009
Subaru Rally Team USA driver Travis Pastrana came out on top of a hard-fought battle at the Olympus Rally, round three of the 2009 Rally America National Championship, to earn his second win of the season. Pastrana, with co-driver Christian Edstrom, drove a faultless rally in their 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX STI rally car but needed to go flat-out on the final stages of competition to pull away from a strong field of challengers, winning by a convincing forty seconds. Pastrana's Subaru teammate Ken Block led the rally after Day One but an engine problem sidelined him midway through the final day. Bad luck also befell Subaru Rally Team USA's newest team member, BMX legend Dave Mirra, who damaged his STI in a spin late in the rally...
Subaru Rally Team USA driver Ken Block Wins Rally in the 100 Acre Wood event for Fourth Consecutive Year
By: Subaru - March 02, 2009
For the fourth year in a row, Subaru Rally Team USA driver Ken Block has won the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood event, hosting round two of the 2009 Rally America National Championship in dominating fashion. Block was uncatchable behind the wheel of his 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX STI on the fast Missouri roads, cruising to victory by over forty seconds. Subaru teammate Travis Pastrana was Block's only competition early on, but his challenge was cut short when he went off the road while pushing hard to match Block's pace, leading to car damage that forced him to retire from the rally. Subaru Rally Team USA's new third driver, BMX legend Dave Mirra, was the biggest surprise of the event with his debut in the new Super Production Class...
