Subaru PUMA RallyCross Team USA's Sverre Isachsen has earned his first podium finish of the season at Global RallyCross round 5 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sverre Isachsen put on a fantastic show starting with his first heat race and carried his momentum through the A MAIN. The #11 Subaru STI performed flawlessly, with the Viking Warrior at the controls, and battled its way through a heat of ten cars to a third place finish.
All three Subaru PUMA RallyCross Team USA cars were entered in the same heat, implying at least one would have to battle through the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ). Isachsen placed second in the heat, putting Lasek and Mirra in the LCQ where Bucky took the hole-shot and surged forward ahead of the pack in his #81 Subaru STI. When another competitor's vehicle had a mechanical problem and slowed on the tabletop jump, Dave Mirra impacted the rear and sustained damage that, though minor, was enough to force his retirement from the race. Bucky Lasek ran an extremely clean race through the LCQ and into the A MAIN where he finished eighth without a scratch on the car. Lasek was overjoyed with his advancement to the final race and continues to gain confidence in his competitive abilities.
Subaru PUMA RallyCross Team USA and Sverre Isachsen are thrilled with the results and are looking forward to the final round of the 2012 GRC series back in Vegas at the end of October.
