The 2010 Oregon Trail Rally opened up to blue skies and dry roads in the scenic vicinity of Mt. Hood. Unfortunately for Subaru Rally Team USA, their campaign at this event was cut short when Dave Mirra and Martin Headland rolled #40 in a very difficult turn on Stage 6. That same turn also claimed former SRT USA teammate Ken Block later that day. Although the vehicle was too damaged to continue the race, Mirra was eventually able to transit his 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI out of the stage. He retired with four flat tires, a flattened roof, and a missing bumper. The crew is okay.
The race continued on and a battle is raging between the top Subarus in the Super Production Class. In fourth place overall and first in-class, Pat Moro leads the fight in his 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STI and seems to be driving faster than ever. Travis Hanson is 41 seconds behind Moro and has been running consistently clean lines all day. Jimmy Keeney holds third with a little over ninety seconds on either side of his standings. Both Hanson and Keeney are driving 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX STIs.
Dave Mirra was the lone Subaru Rally Team USA driver at the 2010 Oregon Trail Rally. Travis Pastrana has taken a short break from rallying to film his MTV show, Nitro Circus. He will return this summer.
