The Rally in the 100 Acre Wood kicked off today in Potosi, Missouri with a half-mile spectator stage before the cars dashed off to the woods to run thirty-five miles of stage road in the surrounding forests. By the second stage, Subaru Rally Team USA had secured the rankings they would maintain for the rest of the day: David Higgins and Craig Drew in the #75 Subaru WRX STI are in second place with Dave Mirra and Marshall Clarke holding third place in the #40 WRX STI. A mere twenty-two seconds separates Higgins and Drew from first place on the scoreboard and Mirra and Clarke are down a minute from their teammates. Only a third of the event's total stage mileage has been run so far, so this race is far from over. Tomorrow, with a better feeling for the road surfaces and appropriate technique for this event, Subaru Rally Team will be well equipped to step up their already impressive pace and shoot for the top spots on the 100 Acre Wood podium.
