Without question weather and road conditions will be the toughest challenge facing teams at this year's 100 Acre Wood Rally. After two days of successful testing on dry fast roads, David Higgins and Craig Drew were shocked to find 1-2 inches of dense ice pellets covering every single road in the Salem, Missouri area Thursday morning. David Higgins is determined to charge for the win in his #75 Subaru WRX STI, however, in light of the demanding conditions a more patient approach could be prudent. The storm has passed, but with temperatures hovering around freezing snow and ice is likely to remain on the course throughout the event.
Despite the diverse and unpredictable surfaces, it could prove to be an advantage for Subaru Rally Team USA. Higgins and Drew always love a tough challenge and with Higgins' driving talent, paired with Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, the team is well positioned to take the win. On Friday, the Parc Expose kicks things off at 12:30pm in Potosi, while the first car launches down Stage 1 - Floyd Tower at 1:51pm. The remainder of Day 1 consists of six additional stages for a total of 51.37 competitive miles. Get ready for the action!
