Subaru Rally Team USA's David Higgins and Craig Drew are eager to defend their Rally America National Championship title in SRT USA #75. With two days of winter testing completed, the 2012 Subaru WRX STI is ready to take on the winter roads of Michigan at the Sno*Drift Rally.
Sno*Drift is the first event of the 2012 Rally America National Championship, and there is an unprecedented field of 70 cars entered. This will perhaps be the most challenging event of the season, as significant rainfall in the past week has formed up to an inch of hard, clear ice on many of the stage roads. With no studs permitted, all of the cars in the field will be desperate for traction. Sno*Drift is already a tough rally, but the severity of the ice adds another layer of variability to the the racing. Teams will recce the course on Thursday, and the event officially begins at 1:00 PM Friday with a Parc Expose on Kneeland Street in Lewiston.
