Cherry Hill, NJ – December 2, 2009 – Subaru of America, Inc. today announced that it has received three Residual Value Awards from ALG. ALG’s 11th annual Residual Value Awards, for the 2010 model year, honor the vehicles in each industry segment that ALG predicts will retain the highest percentage of their original price after a three-year period.
Subaru of America, Inc. won Best Mainstream Brand, while the Subaru Forester won the Best Compact Utility Vehicle award and the Subaru Outback won the Best Midsize Utility award.
ALG determines the award winners after carefully studying the competition in each segment, historical vehicle performance and industry trends. Vehicle quality, production levels relative to demand and pricing strategies are among the key factors that affect ALG’s residual value forecasts.
"Subaru of America is pleased to accept the ALG 2010 Residual Value Awards for Best Mainstream Brand, Best Compact Utility Vehicle and Best Midsize Utility Vehicle," said Tom Doll, executive vice president and COO, Subaru of America, Inc. "These awards are a testament to the overall value of Subaru vehicles and help signify that our vehicles are not only a smart investment, but also reinforce the Subaru brand attributes of durability, reliability and safety," Doll continued.
“We believe Residual Value remains the best metric for evaluating the overall strength of an automotive brand, and we congratulate Subaru for the proven success of their brand and their Forester and Outback models,” said James Clark, General Manager of ALG. “The ALG Residual Value Awards are recognized throughout the industry and by consumers as the mark of a healthy brand; winning this award is a testament to an exceptionally strong product and all of us at ALG are pleased to recognize that accomplishment.”

Cherry Hill, NJ, December 1, 2009 -- Subaru of America, Inc. today announced an increase in November sales of 24 percent with 16,988 units sold. November 2009 represents the best November monthly total in Subaru of America's history and the fifth record month out of the last six.
The November sales results mean that SOA has already overtaken its full year 2008 sales and the company has predicted that it will set a new sales record for the 2009 calendar year, to beat the 200,703 sales record set in 2006. Sales for the 2010 Subaru Legacy and Outback models have each set November records with 2,802 units sold and 6,505 units sold respectively.
"November held a lot of good news for the Subaru brand. Not only did we set another monthly sales record, but we have also surpassed last years' total sales," said Tim Colbeck, senior vice president of sales, Subaru of America, Inc. "Additionally, last month the IIHS announced that Subaru was the only brand to receive "Top Safety Pick" status in every segment it competes. Thanks to our strong products and continued accolades, our sales momentum is strong and I am confident that Subaru will achieve an all-time sales record for 2009."
"The continued sales success that Subaru is enjoying, despite the weakness in the economy and auto industry, is a tribute to our retailers who believe in both the value Subaru vehicles represent and in our brand direction," said Thomas J. Doll, EVP and COO of Subaru of America, Inc. "Subaru has established monthly sales records in five of the last six months and our market share has been consistently above 2-percent. We cannot thank our retail partners enough for their outstanding sales efforts," Doll continued.
