As a responsible member of society, Subaru of America, Inc., together with its subsidiaries and affiliates, is committed to the highest standards of product quality and business integrity so that we achieve a proper balance between our business goals and our Corporate Social Responsibilities. To that end, we have adopted a Corporate Social Responsibility policy with the following principles:
SOA also expects each business partner to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with our CSR principles and to have in place their own Corporate Social Responsibility policies.
This new green facility in Portland, OR is a testament to our environmental philosophy and Subaru of America's commitment to sustainable construction practices. It has been designed to meet the U.S. Green Building Council's "LEED Silver" designation. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is an internationally recognized green building certification system that addresses design and building strategies which improve energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impact.
At Subaru, we believe employees and their families should be aware of and understand the importance of maintaining healthy lifestyles. That's why we established an employee Wellness Committee to help promote our Wellness at Work opportunities, such as our company-based fitness centers, lunchtime walks and bike rides, blood drives, and health screenings.
