Community Investments
Though
many of our society's current challenges seem daunting, we at Subaru of
America believe that by supporting, encouraging, and educating the
youngest members of our communities, change is not only possible - but
something you can count on. SOA's corporate investments support a
variety of education, arts, social, civic and health programs
benefiting a spectrum of participants brimming with potential. We
invest our resources to encourage the proliferation of programs that
enable success in diverse communities. More than a "bandage solution"
to society's ills, our efforts are measured, worthwhile steps that work
toward prevention, regeneration, and development.
Over the past year, Subaru has invested in projects such as:
- Summer reading program for elementary school children
- Health-related programs aimed at battling AIDS and MS
- Scholarships for inner-city high school students
- Community-based family arts, music, and education programs
- Literacy awareness programs
- Donation of used computer equipment to local schools and non-profit organizations
- Newspapers in Education program in several schools
- Various programs supporting challenged students
- Leadership conferences for high school students
- School To Work program for high school students
- Programs for teenagers on the dangers of driving under the influence
